Layered Photos - August 2013

Layered Photo Tutorial - August 2013   MEDIUM

Layering photos using editing software can be sometime hard to do with some software but using something like Photoshop it can be quite easy to do.

To layer your photo using Photoshop for Mac/PC you need to have your base layer photo (The photo you want to start with) ready inside Photoshop. Then you need to have another photo to insert onto the same Photoshop file to have as the second photo to layer on top. When you have done this then look at the side bar on Photoshop and find the Opacity section. Here you can adjust the opacity on the top layer by using the slider so you can get the two photos to become visible on top of each other.

You can use this technique in lots of different ways. For example the photo here on the bottom right where i have layered up lots of London pictures on top of each other to create one photo to give the feel of London. Or you can just layer the same photo over and over again while moving it slightly to give a blurred effect like the one at the top.

To see some of the my photos using this technique have a look at the Idris Khan inspired "Ghost Photos" collection, the "Layered Photos" collection and the Texture - Eyes collection on the main page of my blog.   Thank You
